Road to the Rockies!

Nikon D2X, Nikon18-200 VR Lens @ 38mm, 1/100 at f/8, ISO 100, Manual Exposure, Cloudy White balance, Nikon Capture NX, CS3.
One of very few moments when the sun was shining allowing us to actually capture an image or two. We were on our way back from Jasper and had seen this s-curve on our way out. Certainly proved to be a great opportunity. The only problems were related to traffic. Cars and Buses were traveling both ways and the timing had to be perfect.

First Post - Sheeesh!

Nikon D2X, Nikon 18-200 VR Lens @ 170mm, 0.4 sec at f/16, Manual Exposure, Cloudy White Balance, Nikon Capture NX and CS3.
Wow! Finally have an opportunity to post from my trip to the Canadian Rockies. Arrived safely last Friday evening and found no internet access and no cell phone coverage. We stayed at the Crossings between Bow Lake and Jasper. All week we experienced overcast skies, rain, snow (5") and poor lighting. Here is a post from Tangle Falls near the Icefields. Since it was cloudy we spent a lot of time on waterfalls. So most of my posts will be similar to the above image. Sitting at the Super 8 in Calgary and will be departing tomorrow at 8 am.

Lake Moraine
Photo taken with Nikon D2x, ISO-100, f/16 at 1sec 12-24 mm Zoom Lens at 22mm. Sing Ray Split Neutral Density Filter Nikon Capture NX and CS3.

This Friday I am off, once again, to the Canadian Rockies. Our plans are to travel more towards Jasper than in the past to capture some images we have yet to get in our sites. This morning shot of Lake Moraine is just a sample of the many photo opportunities that wait for us during the next week. I will keep you posted on our progress as long as there is a wireless network nearby.
